Study accounts for Consecutive/Non-Consecutive Master's Courses of Studies

The following regulations affect the obligation to pay for Consecutive and Nonconsecutive Master's Courses of Studies:

For Consecutive Master's Courses of Studies

For applicants who acquired their Bachelor in Rhineland-Palatinate, the study account is resumed and the master study is free of charge until the consumption of the study account.

If the applicant acquired a diploma at a Rhineland-Palatinate university, the new study is handled as a chargeable secondary study, however possibly existing remaining credit balance can be used for the secondary study.

If an applicant acquired a Bachelor outside of Rhineland-Palatinate and starts a consecutive master course of studies, then it is free of charge. The study account contains 180 points (360 minus 180 taken off for the completed Bachelor).

If an applicant acquired a Diploma outside of Rhineland-Palatinate and starts a consecutive master course of studies, then it is always chargeable, because it is a secondary study.

For Nonconsecutive Master's Courses of Studies

Applicants, who already completed a study in Rhineland-Palatinate, are in principle always chargeable, since it is a secondary study; however they can redeem possibly existing remaining credit balance for the secondary study.

Applicants, who completed their first study outside of Rhineland-Palatinate, are always chargeable.
