"ChatGPT in the University Classroom: Opportunities, Challenges, and Best Practices"

ChatGPT, a widely adopted AI model developed by OpenAI, has gained popularity for its ability to generate text in response to human inputs. In this talk, the fundamental mechanisms underlying its success will be introduced, along with an examination of common misconceptions surrounding its functionality and usage.

The second part of the talk will focus on practical recommendations for utilizing ChatGPT, offering specific suggestions for prompts, plugins, other AI tools, and potential use-cases applicable to students and lecturers. It will explore how course plans, examination formats, and studying procedures can be enhanced through the integration of AI systems. Additionally, the talk will address the associated risks and ethical concerns associated with employing such technologies in an academic context.

This talk aims to foster a thoughtful discussion regarding the appropriateness and effective implementation of AI systems like ChatGPT within university settings. Attendees will gain insights to inform their own decision-making processes concerning the adoption of AI technologies in education.
