"ChatGPT in the University Classroom: Opportunities, Challenges, and Best Practices"

ChatGPT, a widely adopted AI model developed by OpenAI, has gainedpopularity for its ability to generate text in response to human inputs. Inthis talk, the fundamental mechanisms underlying its success will beintroduced, along with an examination of common misconceptions surroundingits functionality and usage.

The second part of the talk will focus on practical recommendations forutilizing ChatGPT, offering specific suggestions for prompts, plugins, otherAI tools, and potential use-cases applicable to students and lecturers. Itwill explore how course plans, examination formats, and studying procedurescan be enhanced through the integration of AI systems. Additionally, thetalk will address the associated risks and ethical concerns associated withemploying such technologies in an academic context.

This talk aims to foster a thoughtful discussion regarding theappropriateness and effective implementation of AI systems like ChatGPTwithin university settings. Attendees will gain insights to inform their owndecision-making processes concerning the adoption of AI technologies ineducation.
